Introductory note / Nota introductoria

Usually this is tactfully glossed over, but the fact is that, more often than not, unless an artist is famous or independently wealthy and has staff at his service, the biographies you read in concert programmes and CD sleeves have been written by the artist himself. I used to keep a sub-blog with biographical material, until I deleted it some years ago; it seemed superfluous.

My position on this has had to shift. In 2020 a long-brewing personal tragedy culminated in a show trial, whose outcome, adverse to me in my absence, gave rise to a flurry of online publications. All of these fail to engage with the truth, focusing instead on the ugliest aspects of the story, grossly magnified and distorted for sensationalist effect and disparagement, possibly to serve the specific interests of a few powerful people. This is not the place to go into details. There is another blog for that, and even there I cannot discuss openly something that is, in essence, a personal tragedy.

In this page I provide some biographical information that may be useful to those trying to understand who I am. 

Not meaning to mislead, I follow the standard practice of referring to myself in the third person.

Habitualmente el buen tacto hace que esto no se lo diga, pero el hecho es que, las más de las veces, a menos que el artista sea famoso y tenga personal a su servicio, las biografías que se leen en los programas de conciertos y en los folletos de los CDs han sido escritas por los mismos artistas. Yo solía mantener un sub-blog con material biográfico, hasta que lo cancelé hace varios años porque me pareció superfluo. 

He tenido que alterar mi posición al respecto. En 2020, una tragedia personal de varios años culminó en un juicio cuyo resultado, que me fue adverso in absentia, dio lugar a una serie de publicaciones. Todas ellas, en lugar de ocuparse de las cuestiones de fondo, se concentraron en los aspectos más feos de la historia, magnificándolos y distorsionándolos groseramente con fines sensacionalistas. Éste no es el lugar para entrar en detalles. Hay otro blog para ello, aunque inclusive allí no es posible discutir abiertamente algo que es, repito, una tragedia personal. 

En esta sección ofrezco alguna información biográfica que puede resultar útil a quien intente comprender quién soy. 

Sin ánimo de despistar, sigo la práctica común de referirme a mí mismo en tercera persona.
